Tarmyq helps travelers figure out the best way to get from an airport into the city. This policy explains exactly what data the app touches and where it goes. Plain English, no surprises.
What Tarmyq does NOT do
- We do not require an account to read airport guides.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not run third-party advertising SDKs or cross-site ad-tracking networks. We do use Google Analytics to measure site usage — see the Analytics section below.
Data stored on your device only
The following live in your browser's localStorage (web) or your phone's AsyncStorage (mobile). They never leave your device unless you choose to clear them or uninstall the app:
- Saved airports — IATA codes you bookmarked.
- Recently viewed airports — IATA codes of the last few airports you opened.
- Fast actions — the ride/maps apps you pinned in Settings.
- Cached airport summaries — so the app works briefly offline.
Airport search
When you type in the search box, your query is sent to our server so it can match against the airport catalog and return results. Search queries are not tied to an account, are not used to build a profile, and only appear in short-term server logs alongside the request path for security and rate-limiting purposes.
Location permission (mobile)
If you tap "Find airports near me" the app asks the operating system for your current coordinates. We use those coordinates one time to ask our server which airport is closest, and then we discard them. Your location is never written to a database, never tied to an account, and never used to build a profile. You can deny location permission and the rest of the app still works.
Feedback submissions
The "Help us improve" forms (Suggest an Airport, Report Outdated Info, Suggest a Tip) and the in-app feedback form on mobile let you send notes to us.
- In the current build, feedback may be saved on your device only, with no automatic upload. The form will tell you which mode it is in.
- When feedback is sent to our server, we accept the submission transiently for triage, log only metadata (the form type, how many fields you filled, whether you provided an email), and never log the free-form contents.
- The email field is always optional. Provide it only if you want us to be able to write back. We do not add it to any marketing list.
Server logs
Our API logs request paths, response codes, and IP addresses for short-term security and rate-limiting purposes. Authorization headers, cookies, and the body of feedback submissions are redacted. Logs are not used to build user profiles.
Analytics
Tarmyq uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — which airport guides are viewed, how people navigate between pages, and which sources bring visitors here. This helps us improve the guides and prioritize new airports. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from IP, which Google truncates), device type, and referring source. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with other information to build a profile of you.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For more on how Google handles data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Affiliate and partner links
Some "Open App" buttons and travel-extras links may be affiliate links — for example, eSIM offers. If you click and complete a purchase, Tarmyq may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. See the Partner Disclosure page for details. We do not pass any personal information to those partners — clicking simply hands you off to their site, which then governs your interaction under their own policies. Tarmyq does not sell or share personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Third-party services
Ride apps (Uber, Lyft, Bolt, Grab, etc.) and map apps (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze) opened from Tarmyq are operated by those companies. Once you tap a deep link or fallback URL, you are subject to their terms and privacy policies, not ours.
Children
Tarmyq is intended for general travel use and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (United States) or under 16 (European Economic Area / United Kingdom).
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
