PIT's new terminal opened in November 2025 — arrivals and ground transport are on the ground level. Rideshare picks up at the Commercial Arrivals Curb near Baggage Claim Door 4; taxis queue in the central area of the same curb. The 28X Airport Flyer bus to downtown and Oakland departs from Door 9 on the ground level, roughly every 30 minutes. There is no rail link to the city.

Taxi

Central area of the Commercial Arrivals Curb. Hail from the taxi queue there. zTrip also operates as an app-based dispatch option.

Shuttle

Hotel and parking shuttles use the ground transportation area on the ground level of the new terminal. The rental car area is served from the same level.

Transit

28X Airport Flyer (Pittsburgh Regional Transit) departs from Door 9 on the Ground Level of the pre-security terminal, approximately every 30 minutes, seven days a week, serving Robinson Town Centre, Oakland and Downtown Pittsburgh. Exact change in cash (no change given) or the PRT Ready2Ride app; a ticket vending machine sits on the ground level between Doors 8 and 9. The Grey Line bus to West Virginia also uses the ground-level bus stop.

Pre-booked cars use the ground-level commercial area; confirm the door with your operator, as the terminal is new and signage is still bedding in.

Local Tips

  • The terminal is new as of November 2025 — ignore any older map or instructions, including references to the underground "people mover," which no longer exists. A covered Skybridge now links landside to airside.
  • The 28X is wheelchair accessible and the only budget route to the city; it serves Oakland (universities) as well as Downtown.
  • Cash fares on the 28X need exact change — no change is given on board. The Ready2Ride app or the ground-level ticket machine is easier.
  • There is no train or light rail to PIT, despite the city having a light-rail system downtown ("the T") that doesn't reach the airport.
  • Concourses A and B were under reconfiguration into 2026 — check your gate in the airline app.
