Memphis International Airport

Memphis, United States

Where to start
Rideshare from the Interim Commercial Curb (lower level) / MATA Route 28

Because of construction, rideshare (Uber, Lyft) now picks up on the **Interim Commercial Curb on the lower arrivals/baggage level** — not the upper level, despite what some apps still say. Taxis are at the Concourse B baggage claim area. The MATA Route 28 airport bus stops on the inner commercial drive at the baggage level (look for the orange MATA signs). No rail.

Pickup Guidance

Rideshare

The new lower-level commercial lane inside the three-story garage, on the arrivals/baggage level outside the C baggage claim area — ride apps moved here on 9 September 2025 during the Terminal Modernization & Seismic Program (TMSP). Bright orange signage marks the path. Ignore older "upper level" instructions.

Taxi

In front of the Concourse B baggage claim area; taxis operate roughly 6 a.m. to one hour after the last flight arrival.

Shuttle

Hotel shuttles and off-airport parking use the commercial drives. The rental car centre is in the Ground Transportation Center one level below baggage claim, reached by a pedestrian walkway.

Transit

MATA Route 28 (Airport) stops on the inner commercial drive on the baggage level — look for the bright orange MATA Bus signs — running to the William Hudson Transit Center downtown.

Private Transfer

Pre-booked cars use the commercial curb; confirm the current staging point given the active construction.

Local Tips

  • Rideshare is downstairs now — the lower-level commercial lane inside the garage, outside C baggage claim, as of 9 September 2025. If your app says "upper level," it's out of date; the upper outer drive is being demolished and rebuilt.
  • All flights use Concourse B — the airport consolidated to a single concourse, so there are no inter-concourse transfers.
  • The MATA bus stop is marked with bright orange signs on the baggage-level inner drive.
  • Taxis stop running not long after the last flight; late arrivals should plan rideshare or a pre-booked car.
  • Memphis is the FedEx Superhub, but cargo operations are entirely separate from the passenger terminal.

Tarmyq local tip

The one thing to know at MEM right now: rideshare moved downstairs on 9 September 2025 — to the lower-level commercial lane inside the three-story garage, outside C baggage claim. Follow the bright orange signs, and trust them over any app that still points you upstairs.
