Indianapolis, United States

Where to start
Rideshare from the Ground Transportation Center / IndyGo Route 8

Everything ground-side is at the Ground Transportation Center on the first floor of the Terminal Garage — Uber and Lyft pick up there (Zone A), as do rental cars and prearranged black cars. Local Tips

  • Everything that isn't a curbside taxi is at the Ground Transportation Center — first floor of the Terminal Garage. Note the zone split: rideshare picks up at Zone A, the IndyGo Route 8 bus at Zone 6.
  • Route 8 is cheap but slow (about an hour door to door) and doesn't run around the clock; with luggage or a tight schedule, a car is more practical.
  • There is no rail transit in Indianapolis — one of the largest US cities without any. The IndyGo Purple and Red Line BRT routes don't serve the airport.
  • Scheduled coaches connect IND to college towns (Bloomington, Lafayette, Muncie) if that's your destination.
  • Race weekends (Indy 500, and events at the Motor Speedway) spike demand sharply.

Tarmyq local tip

The Ground Transportation Center is the whole map at IND. Rideshare, rental cars and black cars are all one first-floor level of the Terminal Garage — walk there rather than waiting at the curb, where only taxis collect.
