⚠️ CLE has **no designated rideshare pickup zone** — Uber and Lyft collect on the ordinary departures or arrivals roadway, so follow your app's pin. Taxis, by contrast, pick up ONLY at the taxi entrance by **carousel 11** (south end of baggage claim). The RTA Red Line runs from the lower level to downtown in under 30 minutes and is often faster than driving at rush hour.
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Cleveland, United States
The RTA Red Line station is on the lower level of the main terminal, reached by elevators or escalators in the centre of the ticketing and baggage claim levels — trains run to Tower City downtown in under 30 minutes, roughly every 15 minutes. There's no dedicated rideshare zone: Uber and Lyft use the departures or arrivals roadway, so follow the app's pin. Taxis queue at the south end of the baggage claim level.

Pickup Guidance
Rideshare
No designated zone. Pickups and drop-offs happen on the departures (upper) or arrivals (lower) roadway — follow the location your app assigns. Late at night (after roughly 10 p.m.) supply thins, so pre-booking is sensible.
Taxi
Dedicated taxi service, 24/7. The taxi entrance is at the south end of the Baggage Claim level, by carousel 11 — to the far right as you enter the baggage claim area. An airport surcharge applies to taxi pickups.
Shuttle
The rental car facility is off-airport, reached by a shuttle from the main terminal (roughly 5–7 minutes). Hotel shuttles use the terminal roadway.
Transit
RTA Red Line, station on the lower level of the main terminal, below ticketing and baggage claim — take the elevators or escalators in the centre of those levels. Trains run to Tower City downtown (under 30 minutes) roughly every 15 minutes, seven days a week from about 4 a.m. to around 12:30 a.m. Greyhound connects at the Red Line's Brookpark station.
Private Transfer
Pre-booked cars use the terminal roadway; with no dedicated commercial zone, confirm the meeting point and door with your operator before you land.

Local Tips
- The Red Line to downtown is one of the oldest and most convenient airport rail links in the country — if you're staying near Tower City or a Red Line stop, it beats a car in rush hour.
- There is genuinely no rideshare zone, which throws people used to signed pickup areas. Trust the app pin.
- The Red Line also reaches Ohio City (West 25th–Ohio City station) in about 10 minutes — handy if that's your destination.
- Red Line maintenance occasionally replaces trains with shuttle buses (as happened in mid-July 2026); buses pick up at the limousine area. Check RTA before relying on the train around maintenance windows.
- The rental car centre is off-site — factor the shuttle ride in if you're picking up a car.
Tarmyq local tip
Cleveland's the rare airport where the train is simpler than the rideshare. There's no TNC zone to find, and the Red Line drops you right downtown — so if you're Tower City-bound, walk to the lower-level station instead of hunting for a pickup spot on the roadway.
