Alibus from the airport Bus Terminal, or a taxi from the Arrivals exit

Catania Airport is only a few kilometres from the city. Alibus runs to Catania Centrale about every 25 minutes; since December 2025 all airport bus stops are in the new Bus Terminal in the west area, the former P2 car park. Taxis wait at the Arrivals exit, and licensed taxis can also be booked through Uber or Freenow. For Syracuse, Taormina or Messina, the Fontanarossa rail station is about 600 m away — not inside the terminal — reached on foot or by AMTS shuttle bus.

Taxi

Taxis wait at the Arrivals exit. Licensed taxis are white with a TAXI roof sign and show their licence number. The city has introduced fixed airport taxi fares on an experimental basis through 31 December 2026 — confirm the fare before you set off.

Shuttle

An AMTS shuttle bus links the terminal and the Fontanarossa railway station, about 600 m away. Buy the combined ticket to "Catania Aeroporto Fontanarossa Bus" if you are arriving by train.

Transit

Alibus runs to Catania Centrale and the historic centre about every 25 minutes. Since December 2025, all airport bus lines — including regional coaches — leave from the Bus Terminal in the west area (former P2). Regional trains to Syracuse, Taormina and Messina leave from Fontanarossa station.
